Health & Safety

Health and wellbeing is one of our core values. It permeates all aspects of our business, creating a safe working environment for us all. This is demonstrated through our excellent safety record.  We have kept our people and clients safe for over 27 years the full life of our company.

The safety of our people and those around us is paramount when we work together. You can trust us to deliver quality engineering services in a safe environment.

Tesla has a Health and Safety Management system that is fully supported by the Tesla board, management and staff along with a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy Manual.  Our manual and systems provide our framework for compliance with AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use.

Sub-contractors used by Tesla must complete a Health and Safety pre-qualification, as well as present a Health and Safety Plan, partake in a start-up meeting, identify hazards and controls, complete induction and submit regular Health and Safety reports.

Health and Safety Assessment

Tesla undertakes regular health and safety prequalification assessment by IMPAC Risk & Safety Management Solutions (PREQUAL).  This comprehensive assessment confirms we understand our legal obligations under health and safety law, have systems in place to ensure we can work safely, and have appropriate insurance as well as other specific requirements. The assessment is renewed every two years and we hold the highest possible rating (5 Star).

Safety in Design

Our Safety in Design process is at the intersection of our quality and safety management systems. To be fit for purpose, Tesla ensures that the designs we provide our clients are safe to operate, maintain and eventually decommission. In addition, we have a duty of care as designers to mitigate risks to the health and safety of the people who will operate, maintain and be in the vicinity of the plant designed by Tesla designers.
