In a modern power system, boundaries between control, protection, telecommunications and metering are overlapping more often and becoming less defined. Tesla has the in-house capability to ensure that all of these components will work seamlessly together.

Members of our team have cross-functional skills covering Secondary Systems, RTU and Data Gateways, and centralised SCADA and data archiving systems.

Our Control and Instrumentation engineers are very familiar with plant requirements within our industry, especially at specialist generation sites such as Hydro and Geothermal.

Our specialist skills include:

  • Control systems concepts, central processor design, serial and Ethernet data interfaces, Hardwire I/O and HMI,
  • Data protocols, point mapping to control systems,
  • Fibre optic, copper and wireless interfaces,
  • PLC design and programming,
  • Process instrumentation, monitoring and control,
  • Revenue metering, including compliance with Electricity Industry Participation Code Part 10,
  • SCADA systems, both hardware and software,
  • Systems automation, PLC, instrumentation, DCS, protection/governor interface.
